With the tank in place, a ditch is dug for the propane gas line. After the line is in place it is covered and ready for the safety strip.
A safety strip is put in place the entire distance of the ditch to prevent possible damage to the line or leak from a future dig. If someone started to dig they would dig up the safety strip first and stop before digging into the line.
